Carignane is a varietal that has been grown throughout the Mediterranean for countless years. Coturri's Carignane grapes are grown in a similar climate in Mendocino County, California.  This Carignane is a dry red wine with a structure similar to Syrah but without Syrah's big fruitiness. The Coturri 09 Carignane has the remarkable ability to pair with most foods, especially what is loosely called "California Cuisine", emphasizing fresh ingredients grilled or braised without a lot of sauces.  Enjoy with your favorite meats and vegetables.  13.9% alcohol
